A SCHOOLS’ football tournament to identify talent was hosted in Kokstad last weekend in which 12 schools and clubs participated. A total of 20 pupils were selected.

The tournament was open to Grade 6 and 7 pupils from Kokstad and surrounding area schools.

Chairperson of the Harry Gwala Sport Confederation, John Motsa said a sports academy is to be opened in Mount Currie on November.
He said the selected pupils will study at the academy from January and receive football coaching and training.
“The tournament was successful and we are satisfied with it. Schools and clubs from Kokstad, Matatiele, Umzimkhulu and Flagstaff showed so much support,” said Motsa.
