HIS dream of becoming a television actor is finally turning into a reality for gospel artist Lungisani Ndlovu as he will be seen playing the role of a correctional service officer in the popular television drama Uzalo, which airs on SABC 1 weekdays.

Nombulelo Dlamini of Mizani Casting Agency confirmed that Ndlovu would be seen on Uzalo before the end of July. She said a number of shoots have already been completed with Ndlovu.

The 31-year-old gospel artist joined the agency in May with the aim of pursuing his acting career.

He says that growing up in a farming area outside Ixopo did not deter him from pursuing his lifelong dream of acting.

“I started appearing on television as an extra and I am happy now that I am playing a bigger role. Acting has been my dream from a very young age,” said the delighted Ndlovu.

He started singing gospel with the Living Voices music group in 2007 and released his first album, Bakhusele, in 2012. His second album, Babawethu, was released in 2015. He said another album would be released in November.

He thanked God for his achievements in singing and acting.

“My talent was hidden before I started singing gospel music. I am a humble person who is always learning new things and listen to God’s voice. Joining television is a blessing to me,” said Ndlovu.

On Saturdays, Ndlovu hosts a gospel show on Christian radio station Itheku FM.

He encouraged youngsters to seek opportunities and become good examples in their communities.

He thanked Mizani Casting Agency, supporters, and other gospel artists for his breakthrough.
