THE Greater Kokstad Municipality mayor Nosisa Jojozi celebrated Youth Month by handing over prizes to the young people of Kokstad on Saturday.
During the celebrations at the Kokstad town hall Jojozi was accompanied by councillor Ntobeko Mavuka, acting municipal manager Andile Velem and some municipal employees.

Speaking to young people Jojozi said: “The municipality has decided to mark 16 June by organising a gathering for young people to enjoy without drinking alcohol or committing crime.”

She thanked the youth of Kokstad for working with her during the past five years as mayor. Marking Youth Month Jojozi handed over a kit and cash to football teams who took part in the Mayoral Cup last week.

A new kit and R3 500 were given to Arsenal FC and
R5 500 and a kit also given to Bhubesi FC in Kokatad. The women’s soccer also benefited.

Thembakazi Rubuluza, deputy chairperson of Bhubesi FC, thanked the municipality for rewarding Kokstad teams.
