GREETINGS to the people of Kokstad.

The Small Town Rehabilitation, phase three, has commenced in Main Street just after Groom Street. There will be a disturbance of the traffic flow, especially going down next to the Department of Education.

As the construction progresses there will be disturbances to businesses in the area.

Our aim is to make sure that we facelift our town in order to attract more investors.

I humbly request the community, road users and business people to be patient with us. We will try our level best to push the contractor to finish the project on time. Still on service delivery, it is my pleasure to announce the completion of Bhongweni Stadium.

This project is one of the milestone projects that will leave a lasting legacy for the municipality. I know there were glitches during construction and we are happy that it is finally completed. I urge the end users to take care of the stadium. Please avoid acts of vandalism and make sure that government money is spent fruitfully for the benefit of the community.

The stadium was officially handed over to the community on February 3.

Harry Gwala Marathon 2017

The above mentioned marathon takes place on Sunday. We urge people to take part on the day. This is our marathon in the district, the only Comrades and Two Oceans qualifiers in the district. I also appeal to local businesses to support this marathon and support other marathons in the district. Please occupy all the points and support the runners. They need you for motivation. May I take this opportunity and wish all the runners good luck. You are all winners. Namanje sisaqhubeka nokuphuhlisa iKokstad. Enkosi.
