WARM greetings to the community of Kokstad.

This week I want to touch on a few issues and give an update on certain matters.

It is regrettable, but it has come to the attention of the municipality that there is the mushrooming of illegal dumping in residential areas and the community is asked to comply with waste management by-laws as follows otherwise transgressors will be prosecuted and this is a serious health ha-zard:

21 (1) No person shall dump, deposit, discharge, spill or release waste or cause or permit such waste to be dumped, discharged, spilled or released, whether or not the waste is in container or receptacle, in or at any place, whether publicly or privately owned, including but not limited to vacant land, rivers, waterways, catchments, sewers and storm water drains, except in a container or at a place which has been specially indicated, provided or set apart for such purpose.

Communities are asked to only take out their refuse for collection according to the following stipulated schedule;

Tuesday: between Wylde Road and Barker Street

Wednesday: from Barker Street to Fleming Drive

Township schedule
