CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW LANDFILL SITE

The Municipality has appointed
Shikani Trading J.V. Ethala Construction for the construction of the landfill cells, storm water drainage and leachate collection system.

The new landfill site is about 8.5 hectors in size and will be constructed at Kranzfontein.

The total budget of the project is R19, 809, 018 including vat. This project is anticipated to last for 12 months.

The contractor was handed over to Ward 6 on Wednesday. This project will create jobs for the Ward 6 community. The contractor will develop a plan where it will table all the work that will be carried out and the number of people needed to perform all the work.

The project steering committee has been elected where they will deal with employment of community members to work in the project.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR GRADUATE EMPLOYEE

I believe in self-development of individual employees and councillors. The municipality is encouraging its employees to take self -development seriously and commit to develop and further their education standards while they are employed.

It takes commitment and dedication of an individual to achieve the set goals.

I want to take the moment and congratulate all Greater Kokstad employees who are graduating this year.

We pride ourselves as the municipality to have employed individuals who are maintaining the Greater
Kokstad brand of being the quality employer of choice.

Thank you for lending me your eyes and ears, we will meet again, same time same place.
