Greater Kokstad Municipality viewpoint

2016-10-21 06:00

GREETINGS to the people of Kokstad.
2016 Matric examinations
Next week marks the beginning of 2016 Grade 12 exams, which is a crucial period on the South African education calendar. It is the time for the country to produce future academics and leaders.
Government has made education a societal matter, so it is imperative for the country to rally behind Grade 12 pupils who will be writing their final exams because this is when they need our support.
These pupils are striving for the key of life to be used to open doors for great opportunities. Among these pupils we have future doctors, nurses, engineers, business people and specialists, who will contribute towards growing our town. It is important to thank the Department of Basic Education for preparing pupils for these examinations, their effort will see Kokstad producing improved results for 2016. I urge pupils to be calm during this period, don’t be overtaken by your emotion, you are a few steps closer to your destination. Good luck for your examinations.

Ward 8 community hall progress
The Greater Kokstad Municipality is happy with progress of the Ward 8 community hall. The contractor has already completed the brick work, and the next step will be to put on the roof. The community of Ward 8 will soon have their community hall delivered to them through our IDP document, which is in response to what they requested during IDP roadshows.
The same response is about to be delivered to the people of Ward 4 and the municipality has already handed over the site to the contractor, and construction will begin soon. The community must be patient because we have their interest at heart and by 2021 people will see a different Kokstad.
Siyaqhuba. Enkosi.
