DANCERS from the Harry Gwala district will spend Christmas in high spirits after being awarded medals at the South African Local Government Authority games in Richards Bay on December 9.

Dancers were awarded two silver medals in ballroom standard and one gold medal in Lating.

In the team natch dance, they came third and fourth in Formation.

Larata Dance Club manager Lebontso Lepita said the competition was very tight as many district municipalities participated. She said dancers put Harry Gwala District on the dancing map.

“I thank local municipalities in Harry Gwala for supporting dance as a sport and parents who allowed their children to partake,” said Lepita.

She asked businesses and sponsors to support dance clubs so dancers can participate at competitions.
