Heavy sentence for rapist

ON March 14, the Mount Fletcher Regional Court sentenced a 29-year-old man to two life terms for raping a 32-year-old woman and her daughter in March last year. The court heard that the man broke the door of the woman’s house raped her and her daughter in front of another 12-year-old daughter.

The man also demanded money from victims and fled. Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit opened the case against the man and arrested him. He will serve a further 10 years for housebreaking. Mount Fletcher cluster commander, Colonel Makeke thanked Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit for comprehensive investigations in the case. He also expressed satisfaction about the sentence. - Supplied
