Himeville mountain bike race to go on

2018-04-27 06:00

ON May 8, the mountain bike race KAP sani2c will take place in Himeville, until May 12.

In the last year’s race, Gawie Combrick and Nico Bell participated and this year they will be joined by Matt Beers and Wessel Botha.

Beers finished second in the last year’s sani2c race with Tim Hammond who both have joined Team Nad MTB club.

The 19-year-old, Wessel Botha, has started making effect in the mountain biking community after winning the 2017 947 MTB Challenge and he will be lining up at the sani2c challenge.

Beers and Bell represented the Team Nad during the Absa Cape Epic and they finished 15th overall and came third in the men category.

Combrick who did not take part in the Cape Epic is looking forward to participate in the upcoming Old Mutual joBerg2c.

“Having a bigger team this year, means we can ride in more races but it is important that we still get the results.

We have tried to put two fresh guys together for the race and we will see how we go at joBerg2c which is coming soon,” said Combrick.

The Old Mutual joBerg2c is a nine days race from Heidelberg to Scottburg and will provide opportunity riders to test out for the sani2c.
