King Edward athletes earn 22 medals

IT was with great excitement that 34 athletes, coaches and parents travelled to Durban last Friday for the KZN championships at Kings Park.

After a good night’s rest, spirits were high when the school arrived at Kings Park Athletics Stadium. It was very hot and humid, but the athletes performed exceptionally well in spite of these conditions. In total 22 medals were won.

Cebo Zibi - bronze in 100m hurdles

Sine Matam - bronze in shot put and silver in discus

Abubuhle Ntloko - bronze in shot put

Joshua Sweetnam - bronze in shot put and silver in discus

Zandri Jacobs - bronze in javelin

Ethan Duminy - silver in javelin and bronze in discus

Ngawo Sidaza - silver in javelin and gold in shot put and discus

Trevor Mkhathi - silver in turbo javelin and shot put

Tristan Phizacklea - silver in high jump

Karabo Sekese - silver in long jump

Anathi Madikizela - bronze in long lump and gold for shot put

Caleb Sweetnam - gold in turbo javelin

Sasha Harris - bronze in discus

Rebecca de Burgh - silver in shot put and gold for discus
