THIS year’s King Edward High Winter Sports Day was held last Saturday in collaboration with the Red Meat Festival. A great turnout of parents and supporters crowded around the hockey, netball and rugby fields.

With the wonderful weather, great atmosphere, and delicious food, everyone had an enjoyable day of sport.

The day culminated with adult seven-a-side hockey and netball matches, and an entertaining music show by Pieter Naude, Ruan Josh and Franja du Plessis. Thank you to supporters and organisers of the event and congratulations to the players for making it such a successful day.

We would also like to thank our sponsors - Sondela Store, Pick n Pay, Resthaven, Greenlands Meats, Spar, RPO KZN, Elton Trust, and De Berg B&B. Marilynne Killian was an absolute star in her organisation and selfless service.

Last Friday, the first and U15 King Edward rugby teams travelled to Ugie to play a match as part of the Rugby League. The first team lost 27-5 and the U15’s beat Ugie 28-7.
