Kokstad College aims for another 100%

2018-02-09 06:00

THE Kokstad circuit Department of Education manager, Cedric Mseleku, said Kokstad College is a school that other schools must learn from because of its 100% matric pass rate.

Mseleku was speaking at a back-to-school campaign organised by the Greater Kokstad Municipality and stakeholders recently.

In 2016, Kokstad College received a 94,1% pass rate and 100% last year and the principal, Dr Milner Snell, promised that they will achieve another 100% pass rate this year.

The school received a 100% pass in English home language, Afrikaans home language, Xhosa first additional, English first additional, life orientation, accounting, business studies, engineering graphics and designs, geography, history, physical science and maths literacy.

In maths, the school received 74,6% and 95,83% in life sciences.

“The school will have extra lessons for pupils who have learning difficulties in certain subjects and the contribution of the school governing body, parents and teachers will make the school fly high,” said Snell.

“Kokstad College is one of the best schools in Kokstad and focuses on 100% teaching, nothing else, and I am very proud.

Dr Snell hasn’t brought the school down since he became principal and is the best,” said Mseleku.

He said the DoE would like Carl Malcomess High School’s management to go to Kokstad College to learn how to produce quality results.

Greater Kokstad Municipality deputy mayor, Karen Walker, congratulated the school and called for other schools to learn from Kokstad College.
