A BLOOD donation campaign by South African National Blood Services (SANBS) received positive response from people in Kokstad on Monday.
Many people, including Kokstad College pupils, donated. Donor Larne Hamann said this is the third time she has donated.
“I encourage people to keep on supporting the campaign.
“I eat healthy food to make sure my blood is good enough to donate.”

Another blood donor, Odwa Jafta a Grade 11 pupil at Kokstad College donated blood for the first time.
“I thought it would be painful, but it isn’t and I will donate again.”

Sibongile Ngcobo, a SANBS officer assisted people at the campaign.

SANBS said blood is mostly used in hospitals and at accident scenes and, when not in use, is stored in blood banks.

The next blood donor day in Kokstad will be announced in the media.
