GOSPEL artist, Nolly Fumba from Kokstad, is appealing to the community to vote for her in order to win an award at the South African Upcoming Music Awards (SAUMA) in Johannesburg on May 13.

She is nominated in the category of Best Gospel Artist of the Year.

The awards were founded to recognise achievements in the music industry for upcoming gospel artists.

To make sure that she gets enough votes, Fumba is visiting churches and community gatherings. Her ambition is to bring the award home to Kokstad.

In 2010 she released her first album We Glorify with 11 songs.

She released the second album Ndizokubonga Ngani in 2014 and Nazo izixhobo in 2016. This year, she is promoting her album Lakrazuka Ikhuselo which was released last year. The album won Best Gospel Album award at the Ihlumelo Gospel Awards in Willowvale last year.

In September last year she won the Best Church Artist of the Year award.

“I started singing when I was in Sunday school and I am looking forward to releasing more albums and contributing to the development of upcoming gospel artists,” said Fumba.

This Saturday she is hosting a music workshop for local artists and people who are interested in music at the Bhongweni Youth Centre. To vote for her, SMS SAUMA5 Nolly 909 to 33903.
