THE U19 Greater Kokstad Netball squad will be training for the Harry Gwala District Mayoral Cup tournament, set to be played next month in Ixopo.

Netball teams from Greater Kokstad, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, Umzimkhulu and Ubuhlebezwe will be competing at the mayoral cup tournament.

Greater Kokstad Netball Association chairperson Berbeto Mnikina said 12 players were selected for the district tournament.

Last Sunday, 11 netball teams from Kokstad played club development U19 netball games at Bhongweni Youth Centre.

At the games, Tigers beat Eastern Rangers 15- 14, New Stars beat Hot Shots 15-14, Cheetahs beat Bhubesi 12-4, Young Lucky Stars beat Kokstad Warriors 15-5, Young Rangers beat Cheetahs 19-18 and Eastern Rangers beat Bombers 15-9. Additional games will be played on September 1.
