Mass funeral for accident victims

2018-07-20 06:01

A MASS funeral for the five road accident victims from Harding will be held at the sports ground at KwaJali village tomorrow (Saturday).

Phelelani Sihlophe, Mlondi Ntuli, Minenhle Jali, Samkelo Jali, Ndumiso Jali, and a woman whose identity was not divulged by authorities died instantly while returning home to the village, last Friday, when the vehicle they were travelling in collided with a truck just outside Harding.

Ward 9 Councillor from KwaJali Jabulani Ngubelanga said the accident has “brought pain” to the village. He said the funeral will be attended by politicians, including Umuziwabantu Municipality mayor Dixie Nciki.

“Families of the victims were assisted by government, including the municipality, in the preparations of the funeral,” said Ngubelanga.

Ndumiso and Minenhle’s father, Zamukulungisa Jali, said he was devastated to have lost his sons on the same day when he spoke to Fever.

Police are still investigating the incident.
