Back to school

The Matatiele Local Municipality and the Department of Education in Alfred Nzo West District is busy preparing for the annual matric awards for the Class of 2017. The purpose is to honour and congratulate those who did well last year and to encourage those who didn’t make it, to work harder this year.

As part of youth development, the municipality has initiated a programme targeting at-school and deserving pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds, who have been admitted to institutions of higher learning. The municipality, through the special programmes unit has once again from January 8 assisted disadvantaged pupils with registering at higher institutions and assisted those who could not access the internet to register online. Matriculants who have been admitted at tertiary institutions are advised to bring their statement of symbols, acceptance letter from institutions and proof of residence, etc.

To help less privileged pupils from Matatiele the municipality has bursaries available in the following fields - BSc Agricultural Science and town, urban, regional planning Bachelor’s degree. For more information, contact the special programmes unit on 039 737 8121 during office hours. That is all from us for now, till next time, stay safe and be blessed.

Thank you sweet people from sweet Matat, a destination of choice and excellence.
