WARM greetings to readers of this column.

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

October is National Breast Cancer awareness month. The month is dedicated to the creation of awareness about one of the common cancers affecting both females and males. Statistics show that five percent of males get breast cancer, as males have breasts as well. We urge both males and females to make it a daily habit to do self-examinations by physically checking for any irregularities/lumps in their breasts.

This year, the race will be on Sunday, October 14. Starting time is 6 am and the route for a 21.1 km race will go from Swartberg Junction to Cedarville Sports Ground. The 5 km race will start in Cederberg Junction and finish at the sports ground.
