Matatiele Local Municipality, in collaboration with the Eastern Cape Development Corporation, held a three-day training course for Matatiele SMMEs on financial management at the town hall. The training will assist them to make effective and efficient use of resources to achieve objectives and fulfill commitments to stakeholders, further help them to be more accountable to donors and stakeholders.

Women’s Month celebrated in style
We are in a very significant month, Women’s Month. On 9 August, 1956, about 20 000 women of all races marched to the Union Building in Pretoria to protest against the discriminatory pass laws which restricted the movement of black people in the country. This march has been celebrated since 1995 as Women’s Day to recognise the important role that political activism by women played during the struggle for liberation against colonisation and apartheid.

As part of commemorating and honouring the women of 1956, Matatiele Local Municipality female staff celebrated in style by wearing head-wraps on Wednesday.
That is all from us for now. Until next time, stay safe and be blessed.
Thank you sweet people from sweet Matat, a destination of choice and excellence.
