THE next Miss Eagle South Africa is set to be crowned on December 15 and contestants across the country are currently doing battle for the title.

Twenty-three-year-old Lorraine Govender, from Kokstad, is one of the semi-finalists in the competition. She recently reached out for the community’s support to help her win the title.

She said this beauty pageant has empowered many women in growing and developing their talents and having an impact in their communities, saying: “The competition has inspired me to assist my community and charity organisations.

“I want to encourage other women to make a change in their communities.”

The competition, open to young women since last year, will see a winner announced at Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.

As part of the competition, contestants were given tasks to volunteer their time by visiting charity homes, helping the poor, and extending other assistance when necessary.

Govender said she wants to become the voice of young women so she can help them reach their goals.

She asked people to support her by following her Facebook Page at Lorraine Govender Miss Eagle South Africa 2018 Semi-Finalist KZN and through her Instagram at
