RESIDENTS from Franklin and surrounding areas are on the lookout for missing Grade 11 pupil Nelisiwe Fani (21), who disappeared on May 5.

Nonceba Dzanibe, who stays with Fani, said she left home to meet her friends but failed to return.

She said Fani was wearing her navy Franklin High School uniform when she disappeared.

“On May 5, she attended Saturday classes with her classmates.

“She left her books at home before she left.

“We have searched for her around the village but have not managed to locate her,” said Dzanibe.

Her sister, Sokolwa Fani from Umzimkhulu, said Fani’s cellphone went straight to voicemail when she tried to call her after she heard that she is missing.

“We have asked all relatives and have reported her missing to the SAPS and received no concrete lead of her whereabouts,” said a distraught Sokolwa.

The SAPS have confirmed that a missing persons case has been opened for Fani.
