Murder accused pleads not guilty

TWO men who face murder charges after allegedly murdering Umzimkhulu businessman Ndumiso Jali (72) and his wife Noma-India Jali (70) pleaded not guilty when they appeared in the Umzimkhulu Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

National Prosecuting Authority spokesman Luxolo Tyali said the men wanted the case to go to trial immediately when they appeared in court but the court did not approve.

“The court is waiting for the decision of Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and so postponed the case,” said Tyali.

The men Andani Monco (30), and Kwanele Ndlwana (22) abandoned bail when they appeared in the same court on March 13.

They also refused legal representation.

Both Ndumiso and Noma-India were shot and killed in their home in Bhoda village in Umzimkhulu and money was stolen.
The case was postponed to April 13 for the decision of DPP.
