Murderers sentenced

CONVICTED murderer Xolani Stuurman (18) and Siyabonga Vikwa (34) were sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment, and nine months were suspended for four years for Vikwa by the Kokstad Magistrate’s Court recently.

Stuurman and Vikwa were charged with the murder of Skhumbuzo William of Qhoboshane Village in Matatiele in November 2015.
“William was attacked and killed near Boxer Super Stores in Matatiele. His body was discovered by security guards, who alerted police.
“Through thorough investigations the suspects were arrested,” said police spokesperson, Lieutenant Raphael Motloung.

Stuurman, number one, pleaded guilty to a charge of assault with grievously bodily harm. The court sentenced him to 15 years, and nine months was suspended.

Vikwa was found guilty of murder and sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment without the option of a fine. He was subsequently started his sentence at Kokstad Maximum Security Prison.
