NDZ viewpoint

2017-05-12 06:00

GREETINGS to all Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma residents and the Harry Gwala district family.
It is a pleasure to, once again, meet this week as we begin the month of May, officially known as the Africa Month. As the NDZ Municipality we prioritise this month in that we have programmes that speak to our people.
Africa Month contributes to the decolonisation of the African continent through a variety of government and civil society projects under the theme “A Year of OR Tambo: Building a Better Africa and a Better World”.

Africa Month contributes to the Pan African call for African unity and co-operation and is used as a platform by African Union member states to take stock of progress in realising Agenda 2063.
As the NDZ Municipality we will participate at the Tourism Indaba, an international event that attracts people from all walks of life.
We will have a stall at the indaba and showcase our crafts and we will give a platform to the youth we have trained under the physiotherapy programme and will provide exposure tourism to our emerging tour operators that were trained by the municipality.
This event will provide a big platform for the NDZ Municipality to be exposed to South Africa and the world.

As the NDZ Municipality our programmes go beyond the arts and culture sector, as we embrace the contributions of the government through economic, political and social factors that impact on the development of the municipality.

Our activities and dialogues are celebratory and educational, and have political and socioeconomic benefits for the people of Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma and the district to celebrate their Africaness and recommit to building communities grounded in positive shared African values and principles. Together we are moving the municipality forward.

Until next time, stay blessed.
