NDZ viewpoint

GREETINGS to all Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma residents, it is with great honour that we meet again in this week granted to us by the Almighty above.

Nelson Mandela's birthday is on 18 July, and the call is for people everywhere to celebrate it by acting on the idea that each person has the power to change the world.

The idea of Mandela Day was inspired by Mandela at his 90th birthday celebrations in London’s Hyde Park in 2008 when he said: “It is time for new hands to lift the burdens. It is in your hands now."

The United Nations officially declared 18 July Nelson Mandela International Day in November 2009, recognising Mandela’s "values and his dedication to the service of humanity" and acknowledging his contribution "to the struggle for democracy internationally and the promotion of a culture of peace throughout the world”.

On Mandela Day people in the jurisdiction of Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma are encouraged to spend their 67 minutes doing something positive for their communities in honour of the 67 years the late South African president spent fighting for social justice and a free, democratic South Africa.
We call upon every community member and every stakeholder in our community to declare that week as a public service week.

The Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma community will be led by mayor Cllr P.N. Mncwabe, councillors, management and all the municipality staff when they take to the streets of Underberg, Creighton, Bulwer and Donnybrook to clean, clean and clean and all stakeholders and community members are invited to join the clean-up campaign.
The NDZ Municipality aims to inspire a ripple of good deeds throughout the community and is encouraging individuals, governments, the community and non-profit organisations to make a small contribution because dynamite comes in small packages making a positive stamp in society.

As this is the Men’s Month, as NDZ municipality we encourage men to visit a clinic for a check-up and to have a medical men circumcision, thus we say let us make healthy living fashionable.
