GREETINGS to all Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma Municipality residents, it is a great pleasure that we get to meet again this week.

Our country has lost a giant, a mother, a leader and a torch bearer for the democracy that we are enjoying today. South Africa, in particular, the Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma Municipality has made significant strides in fusing democracy, through rolling out basic service delivery and improving the lives of many people, particularly those who were deliberately excluded by the apartheid system.

In the South Africa of today everybody is free and everyone exercises their human rights.
There is a democratic spirit, we have an active citizenry, a strong civil society movement, a press that is independent, and vocal opposition that alone is a true reflection of democracy. We say thank you mama for your contribution.

Indaba 2018 is one of the largest tourism marketing events on the African calendar and one of the top three must-visit events of its kind on the global calendar. It showcases the widest variety of Southern Africa’s best tourism products and attracts international visitors and media from across the world. For Indaba to maintain its position as the premier travel trade show on the African continent, it has to present sufficient value to the trade.
With Indaba‘s transformation into a contemporary pan-African trade show, it now brings the face of Africa to life, with more representation of the continent. It is again the opportunity for Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma Muncipality to be part of this magnificent event, give an opportunity for our emerging small businesses such as accommodation and crafters to present their business package and showcase the beauty of the area to the world — it is an opportunity to attract more tourists and investors to the jurisdiction of the Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma Municipal area.

Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma Municipality will be starting the IDP road shows at the Nhlanhleni community hall and at the Qulashe Hall on April 20, and at the Masameni Hall on April 26.
These IDPs roadshows are conducted in a zonal arrangement whereby five wards per IDP converge in one venue — this saves cost and ensures that all funds are spent on the service delivery for the people.

While we will continue to enjoy a strong reputation among holidaymakers, I am confident our strength in tourism business, agriculture, and small businesses will also grow. We are constantly looking for ways to ensure the destination becomes competitive all year round and continue to represent a peaceful, majestic sight of the country. Stay blessed.
