THE handover of 30 computers to Washbank Junior Secondary School by MEC of Agriculture, Cyril Xaba­, proved that Operation Sukuma Sakhe has a big impact.

The Department of Education has also come on board, which also proved how the integrated approach by stakeholders is imperative. Excitement was written all on all the faces of pupils, SGB and teachers.

Handover of house furniture

After local business people built a house for a profiled destitute child, baby Songezo, other business people - Power Store and Stop Furniture Store - donated furnisher for the house.

The community and the family were extremely excited on this exciting day, and again proves that Operation Sukuma Sakhe exists in Umzimkhulu.

Introduction of electricity service­ provider

KwaSenti village, Ward 8,, in Umzimkhulu­, will never be the same again.

In collaboration with the municipality, an electricity service provider was introduced in the village.

It is anticipated that more than 420 houses will have electricity by December and we thank the community for their patience.
