GREETINGS to all

Submission of a petition by Umzimkhulu Business Forum

It is with great regret to announce that the Umzimkhulu business sector has been under criminal attack lately. As a municipality we condemn these criminal activities because they have no place in our fast-growing town and surroundings. We strongly support any form of business that is destined for Umzimkhulu, regardless of how small or big because it will have economic spin-offs in our town. Among other issues raised by the business sector is issue of our street lights that needs serious attention. We acknowledge that and are looking forward to an engagement we are to have with this structure.

Electrification of more than 900 houses

After a series of engagements with various stakeholders, particularly the community of Ward 6, a service provider to electrify more than 900 houses in Ward 6 was introduced to this ward and the event was well attended. It was pleasing to eventually be able to deliver electricity in partnership with Eskom. We therefore express our gratitude to the community of Ward 6 and request them to create an enabling environment for the project to be completed. In Dumisa Village, 284 houses will be connected by Zizamele Contractor while in Gidlintaba 639 houses will be electrified by Pamela Electrical.

Progress on 2017 Mayoral Cup

Once again, Umzimkhulu is showing its multi-talent in sport. Teams have been competing from their respective wards, for the 2017 Mayoral Cup, over the weekend. It is now official that on June 17, Umzimkhulu Municipality will compete in the finals for the 2017 Mayoral Cup. We are looking forward to seeing the youth of Umzimkhulu unleashing their talent.

Till we meet again.
