GREETING to all.

2018/2019 Budget

As this is the last month of the municipal financial year, Umzimkhulu Municipality has completed all the strategies and other documents as part of our readiness for the 2018/2019 financial year. Our officials have ensured that their operational plans speak to the approved budget and further ensure that procurement plans have been submitted to our Supply Chain Unit. These are the legitimate introspective and readiness activities for the upcoming financial year.

WARD COMMITTEE TRAINING

The undisputed factual reality is that ward committees are the strategic foot soldiers of service delivery per ward. There is a thin line between the ward committees and the municipal communications officer. It is on that note that we, as a municipality, handle the empowerment and capacitation of these frontliners with integrity.

MANQOBA MNGQITHI TOURNERMENT AND MAYORAL CUP

It is now a public knowledge that this municipality has become a hub for sport and recreation activities. We would like to congratulate teams that participated in the 2018 Mayoral Cup. The talent of our youth was unleashed, over the weekend. Manqoba Mngqithi Foundation (MMF) is rapidly gaining more momentum, year by year, through its prestigious annual tournament known as the Manqoba Mngqithi Tournament. The significance of this tournament is that it accommodates all SAFA registered teams within Harry Gwala District. About five PSL teams have committed to be part of this tournament as our youth unleash their talents. These games will be played in four different venues: Mbizweni, Ibisi and New City Sportfield with the finals to be played at Umzimkhulu Turf. KZN Department of Sport & Recreation, Umzimkhulu Municipality, SAFA Harry Gwala Region, AVBOB and FOREVER are the sponsors of this tournament. Families, stakeholders and broader communities are urged to attend, to witness history being re-written once again in Umzimkhulu.

Until we meet again.
