Greetings to all.ELECTRIFICATION OF MORE THAN 600 HOUSEHOLDSThe factual reality is that Umzimkhulu is both rural and very vast, so service delivery backlogs, especially for electricity, are quite problematic. On that note, community engagements are justifiably robust in most cases. Both the management and council of this rural based municipality are working around the clock to ensure that fruitful interventions are executed. Raking of funds have since brought a relief to most of the challenges, although it is not yet over. It is on that note that, in partnership with Eskom, we have just introduced the service to electrify more than 600 households in Mangeni Village of Ward One. It was quite a fulfilling sight when the community of that ward were expressing their excitement, but then we were immediately shaken by the reality that somewhere in Umzimkhulu someone is not singing the same song. We would like to pass words of gratitude to the community of Ward One for being patient with us. We furthermore would like to plead to the rest of the community of Umzimkhulu, who have not yet benefited, to be patient with us. EPWP PROGRAMMEMore than 100 beneficiaries have just been appointed by the municipality as part of ensuring that cleanliness prevails in our town. We strongly believe and are committed to the visibility of these beneficiaries, therefore supply chain processes to have their uniforms delivered is at the advanced stage. We appeal to the communities and the participants to also support the processes. COMMUNITY BASED PLAN DOCUMENT In the spirit of ensuring that we are intensifying our approach towards strategic service delivery programme and engagement per ward, we needed to ensure that we develop a document that significantly defines each ward accordingly. This document also ensures that relevant stakeholders are profiled per ward, as this will definitely paint a picture of a conclusive situational analyses of all wards. This historical document has just been completed and will be available from War Rooms, councillors, Houses of Traditional Leaders, ward committees, libraries and municipal buildings. Until we meet again.
