THE newborn baby who was saved from a pit toilet is doing well at his home village of Jabulani.
On Monday the baby has received clothes and food from Matatiele Correctional Centre staff.
Last month Fever published the story about the newborn baby who was retrieved from a pit toilet by wardens.
The baby was allegedly thrown into the pit toilet by its 24-year-old mother.
Correctional services officers visited the baby this week and said the child is doing well under the care of community members and the mother of the baby.
Community leader Mohau Mafisa said the work done by correctional services staff to help the baby is appreciated.
