THERE are not many people who care so deeply about the environment that they would take action. One man who did this recently was Dean McIntyre, who works at a local garage in Matatiele.

McIntyre visited St Monica’s School on November 8 to donate and assist with planting trees at the school.

St Monica’s principal, Darryn Pretorius, Innocent Leboea, the school’s head of department, and Zolo Dolo, a staff member, also contributed to the planting of trees.

Grade 7 pupils were taught how to plant trees and Pretorius explained the root system of trees including how to remove a tree safely from its packaging and how to plant it correctly.

“We would like to thank the local garage for their contribution to our environment,” he said.
