Police investigate break-ins in Kokstad

NINE cases of burglaries are being investigated by Kokstad police with police warning residents to safeguard their homes.

The cases were opened between June 1 and June 5.

SAPS spokesperson Captain Dumisani Ncongo said, on May 29, that there was a burglary case which was opened at extension seven after thieves broke doors and windows and stole a television and shoes. He said the items costs R4 800.

Another burglary was reported at Shayamoya on May 30. Phones, clothes and other household items were stolen while the house owner was sleeping.

“At Murray Street, phones that costs R1 500 were stolen from the house in the early hours on Sunday morning.

“A television set and other house items, that cost R7 000, were stolen from a house in Shayamoya on the same day,” said Ncongo.

No arrests have been made.
