2017-02-10 06:01

THE South African Post Office is warning people about a parcel scam.
It is alleged that perpetrators phone or send emails to people claiming to be employees of SA Post Office, telling them there is a parcel waiting for them at the post office.
“Cases of this nature have been reported about perpetrators that require clients to pay R2 500 00 into a fraudulent bank account in order to release their parcels.
“The public must be alert when receiving telephone calls or emails of this nature,” said KZN Post Office communication specialist, Nobuhle Njapha.

She said Lesotho Postal
Services and SA Post Office do not require customers to deposit money before releasing parcels.
“People are advised to ignore communication of this nature and must contact Post Office Crime hotline on 0800 020 070.
