THE people of Kokstad from various denominations got together to pray for rain last Thursday at the St Patrick’s Catholic Church, this despite the recent heavy snowfall and rain.

Bishop Zolile Mpambani said the recent rain and snow was “an answer from God”, but more rain was needed.

“We are praying for the whole country to get rain in order for farmers to produce crops,” said Mpambani.

Reverend Minerval Black said people should always pray for rain when there is a drought.

Judy Patterson, who came up with the idea of praying for rain, said she was happy with the response.
“I am so happy to see people coming together under one roof to pray for rain. We can survive without electricity, but without water we cannot survive,” she said.
