THE king of amaHlubi Langalibalele II is going to welcome his imbongi (traditional praise singer), Ndabenhle Radebe from the initiation school at a traditional ceremony in Escort on 2 January.

Radebe entered the initiation school in Kokstad that is controlled by Indlondlo. A traditional event is planned for 30 and 31 December in Kokstad to bring home initiates from the mountain.

Umqombothi traditional beer will be served and cows will be slaughtered on the day. Benny Khobo, chairperson of Indlondlo congratulated Radebe for going to initiation school as a Hlubi.

“AmaHlubi will accompany Radebe when going to greet King Langalibalele II in Emtshezi in Escort,” said Khobo.

Kokstad has recorded no circumcision-related deaths as of this week. On 6 January, Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini is going to officially welcome more than 200 Amakrwala of Harry Gwala at Shayamoya sport grounds in Kokstad.

Officials from the Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Social Development, Sports Arts and Culture and Greater Kokstad Municipality will attend the official welcoming of initiates.
