PUPILS from Ntsikeni Secondary in Umzimkhulu were told about career opportunities in the media industry after attending a one-day media workshop organised by the school and Philani Dlamini last Thursday.

Pupils were encouraged to pursue careers in advertising, film, television, radio, communication and print.
Dlamini said rural pupils experience difficulties when they choose careers in tertiary institutions, so they need to be educated about career choices.
“Most pupils choose teaching and nursing, but now they should follow other industries like media.”

Exhibitors from various companies attended, including Department of Education officials.

Mthunzi Mkhungo from Government Communications and Information System told pupils about various opportunities. Ntsikeni Secondary principal Nkululeko Mpompi thanked exhibitors for attending the workshop.

“We are grateful for having the workshop at our school, which will help pupils understand what career path to choose after completing matric,” said Mpompi. - Supplied.
