ON Tuesday Cedarville Public Schools pupils closed the school gates demanding that school management allow them to participate in sport with other schools.

Police were called to control angry pupils who blocked the gate with desks and threw stone at the police and their vehicles.
Police spokesperson said Lieutenant Raphael Motloung said when the police arrived pupils were damaging the windows of a house next to the school.

“Pupils were demanding sporting events at school and female pupils demanded to wear trousers during school and be allowed to have hairstyles. The principal arrived and addressed pupils.”
The matter was amicably resolved.
