2018-10-05 06:00

THE court case against a 23-year-old man known to the Kokstad community as a “prophet” was remanded to October 17.

The suspect appeared at the Kokstad Magistrate’s Court last Friday where he faced charges of rape.

The suspect is accused of raping two young girls in November, 2017.

The parents of the victims opened cases against the man after their teenage girls, aged 16 years old, were allegedly raped by the man on November 5.

SAPS had been tracing the man until he was caught in the Kwakhwiniza area on July 27.

When he appeared in court on September 17, he abandoned bail after he was advised by the court.

The case was transferred to Regional Court for trial.
