Robbers flee with pharmacy money

2018-06-22 06:01

AN undisclosed amount of money was stolen after robbers raided a pharmacy in Matatiele on Monday afternoon.

SAPS said the shop owner was busy counting money when he noticed suspicious men inside the shop.

“The manager went to his office, to take his firearm and, as he placed the firearm inside a plastic bag, the men pointed their own guns at him and seized his.

“The men took money from the safe and disappeared,” said SAPS spokesman Captain Raphael Motloung.

He said police were called on scene and fingerprints were taken to be used to try and trace the robbers. A business robbery case was opened and no arrests have been made.
