THE newly elected KZN ANC chairperson Sihle Zikalala said he is worried about the lack of support of Indian and coloured communities in the ANC.

Speaking during the launch of ANC volunteer election campaign at Peace Initiative Hall at Ixopo on Sunday, Zikalala asked ANC members to make sure they get the Indian and coloured people’s support.

Zikalala said they are very concerned about decline in support from minority communities and will campaign to regain them.

“We must bring the end to the cry of Indian and coloured communities. During the apartheid era they were not white enough to belong to the white regime, now during ANC leadership, they find themselves not black enough,” said Zikalala.

Zikalala was accompanied by newly elected deputy secretary Mluleki Ndobe.

He said their plan is to get these voters back into the ANC.

He asked ANC members to work hard towards the local government elections as they want to govern all KwaZulu-Natal municipalities.

Zikalala asked ANC members to be at the forefront of fighting against corruption whether at political or administration level.

He said they want civil servants, who will serve people with pride, and government workers, such hospital managers or police station commanders, must not drive fancy cars while there are no ambulances or vans at police stations.
