A MEMORIAL lecture about the life of Nelson Mandela was held by South African Communist Party (SACP) members at Seven Fountains Primary School last Sunday. Delivering the lecture, Greater Kokstad SACP co-ordinator, Vuyiswa Qhakaza, said members must follow in the footsteps of Mandela, because it is important for them to learn about the life of Mandela in order to grow the party. “Members must learn the principals of the Communist Party and get academic qualifications. I want members to make education fashionable so it is easy for them to participate in activities of the party,” she said. Recently, the communist party held a national conference in Gauteng, and Qhakaza told members, who did not attend the conference, about the resolutions taken at the event. She said members must respect the organisation and work hard to build it. On July 26, SACP members held a clean-up campaign at EG and Usher Memorial Hospital and donated a cake to patients in the children’s ward.
