SAPS warn ahead of festive season

2016-10-21 06:00

THE Matatiele SAPS are warning people not to leave their houses unattended over the December holidays.
Spokesperson Captain Raphael Motloung said police will be on high alert during this festive season.
He appealed to community members not to become soft targets by leaving doors and gates unlocked or open.

“Robberies, house break-ins, theft, and business robbery will be high during festive season, which is why we are warning people ahead of time, and police will work hard to make sure that people and businesses are safe.”

Motloung says people must inform police about any suspicious people or vehicle in Matatiele.

“Business people must not allow suspicious people to walk around their shops without buying anything, instead they should inform the police.
“Home owners must lock their security gates or leave someone to look after their house when on a long trip,” added Raphael.

Matatiele SAPS can be contacted on 039 737 9900 or 10111.
