THE South Coast Bass Association’s monthly “fish-off” was held on a private dam in Paddock recently and members said the day was “a great day for fishing”. The 12 anglers caught 35 fish making the day the most productive fishing trip recorded on the fishing calendar this year. The winning angler was Ferro van Greunen with a total of 8.8 points recorded on his weight sheet. Five anglers made the five-fish limit at the weigh in. A new kit was also given to members at the event who wore it with pride. “Thank you to the efforts of chairman Anthony Card and our sponsor M Projects from Durban. We are now entering a planning phase for a monthly ‘Beat the Pros’ competition where anglers are invited to fish against members of the SCBA for cash prizes and possible gift packs,” said member Manus Erasmus. Please visit our Facebook page and tell us what you think. This initiative will replace the annual South Coast bass classic, especially since it will be held more frequently. “We are hoping to attract lots of anglers and pose a challenge to everyone to try and beat the SCBA bass masters,” said Erasmus.
