2018-11-02 06:01

MATRIC pupils from Mariazell High School who have excelled in their academic year were rewarded with certificates at an event held at the school last Friday.

The “shining stars” were also awarded gifts for receiving over 70% in their September exams.

Matric top achiever Diniso Gwabeni got five distinctions; for mathematics, physical science, life orientation, life science and geography; while Karabo Jabari also performed well.

School administrator Dr Vivian Kok, along with teachers and principal Princess Myburg, attended the event where they motivated pupils to work hard to bring in good results.

“The school is working hard to produce outstanding results and we are hoping that Diniso will compete with national top achievers when the matric results are announced by the Minister of Basic Education,” said Kok.

The school has 67 matrics who will take their final exams.
