ON November 30, police arrested a second suspect, a 27-year-old woman, for the alleged murder of Nomthandazo Dlamini (22), whose body parts were found next to the road at Sunrise Forest in Donnybrook on September 10.

The suspect was caught in Pietermaritzburg and on Tuesday December 19 she made her second court appearance in the Ixopo Magistrate’s Court.

On September 7, Dlamini disappeared after leaving home with an unknown woman. The next day her family, the community and SAPS searched for her and her body was found next to a road with several injuries.

“It appeared that her body had been chopped with a bush knife. Her one arm and head were not found. After police investigations, a 39-year-old woman was caught,” said SAPS spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Thulani Zwane.

The first suspect, Jwayelile Khuboni (39), was on October 29 at the Pietermaritzburg High Court, sentenced to 25 years for her murder and five years for kidnapping.

SAPS Spokeswoman Captain Nqobile Gwala said the 27-year-old woman appeared in the Ixopo Magistrate’s Court and the case was remanded to December 29 for bail application.

She remains in custody.
