PEOPLE from Mphitshini village outside Bulwer were shocked and saddened after the body of a security guard, Bavumile Hadebe (29), was found with the head severed next to a Bulwer police station last Thursday.

Hadebe was one of the security guards at the education centre offices.

It is alleged she was attacked after finishing work at 6pm. Her body was seen by passing taxi drivers who informed police.

“Before Bavumile’s attack she told her family about people who were threatening her. She was a humble woman,” said her sister Londi.

Thobile Magaqa, the chief education specialist in Pholela Circuit Management Centre of the Department of Education said Hadebe’s murder has shocked many at the Department of Education.

Hadebe was a member of the ANCYL in Buyani Madlala branch under Ward 12 in the Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma sub-region.

ANCYL Harry Gwala secretary Qiniso Ntozakhe sent condolences to the family.

“People who have information in relation to Hadebe’s attack must report it to law enforcement agencies.

“We are sick and tired of witnessing young people being killed like animals,” said Ntozakhe.

Hadebe left a four-year-old child, five siblings and parents. - Supplied.
