ST. MONICA’S Day was commemorated with lots of fun activities at the school on May 4.

The chaplain of the school, Reverend Father Mafunda, narrated a short history about St. Monica’s in the presence of staff and pupils.
Reverend Mafunda emphasised the role played by mothers in societies saying that they need to be valued and appreciated for their hard work.
“Women are the ‘backbones’ or ‘pillars’ in teaching morality and bring discipline to their children,” Reverend Mafunda said. At the event, a preacher spoke about Hanna — the mother of Samuel from the Bible. — Supplied.
