Thieves target trucks in Kokstad

2017-07-28 06:00

SAPS are warning truck drivers to be vigilant when they park in Kokstad.
This after a case of theft out of a motor vehicle was opened with SAPS after items worth R19 000 were stolen from a truck that was parked outside a garage on July 10. The truck driver was asleep in the front of the truck and the items were at the back when thieves struck.

A second case was opened after thieves stole 40 bags of rice from a truck that was also parked next to a garage on the evening of July 10. The value of the rice is R8 000.

SAPS spokesperson Captain Dumisani Ncongo said truck drivers must park in a safe place or must have security guards to watch their trucks. “Stealing from trucks mostly happen at night so truck drivers must be vigilant when they park in Kokstad,” said Ncongo.
